Photoshop Tutorial: Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Design

In this tutorial you will learn how to design a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic mobile phone using photoshop.

Step 1:

Let’s start out by creating a new file. I used a 600×500 pixels canvas set at 72dpi, and I filled my background with white. Now select the Rounded Rectangle Tool, above your screen under the options palette choose Fill Pixels, set the radius to 30 px and check anti-aliased. In a new layer draw a large rounded rectangle with #343B45 color shade and 170 x 380 px dimensions.

Step 2:

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Shadow and Stroke blending options to your large rounded rectangle layer.

Step 3:

In a new layer draw another large rounded rectangle with #0A0A0A color shade and 150 x 360 px dimensions.

Step 4:

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Drop Shadow, Inner Shadow and Gradient Overlay blending options to your large dark rounded rectangle layer.

Step 5:

Now grab the screen design here and insert it into your canvas.

Step 6:

Select the Horizontal Type Tool then set the font family to Arial, bold, 7 pt, smooth and white color shade. In a new text layer type ‘NOKIA’.

Step 7:

In a new layer make a small black rounded rectangle on the top center of the design. Then in another new layer draw a small circle with #2B2B33 color shade on the right end of the design.

Step 8:

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Glow and Stroke blending options to the small circle layer.

Result:

Step 9:

Grab the express music logo here and insert it into your design.

Step 10:

Create a new layer then draw a long black rounded rectangle below the screen design. Then under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Stroke blending option.

Result:

Step 11:

In a new layer draw a smaller black rounded rectangle inside the first then cut a rectangle in the middle. Now under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Stroke blending option.

Result:

Step 12:

In a new layer draw a small rectangle on the middle of the rounded rectangle design and add the same Stroke blending option settings from step eleven. Then draw 3 small rectangles in different colors, #00C285 for green, white and #FF595E for the light pink color shade.

Results:
